Back around the beginning of the global pandemic earlier this year, I started a series of posts on Facebook where I shared verses of Scripture called, “God’s Word in Uncertain Times.”
Of course, there are many, many words that speak to us in uncertain times. Here is the series I posted on Facebook over several weeks.
Proverbs 3.5-6 (NET)
Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not rely on your own understanding. Acknowledge him in all your ways, and he will make your paths straight.
Psalms 50.14-15 (CEB)
“Offer God a sacrifice of thanksgiving! Fulfill the promises you made to the Most High! Cry out to me whenever you are in trouble; I will deliver you, then you will honor me.”
Psalm 59.16 (NLT)
But as for me, I will sing about your power. Each morning I will sing with joy about your unfailing love. For you have been my refuge, a place of safety when I am in distress.
Psalm 91.2 (NLT)
This I declare about the Lord: He alone is my refuge, my place of safety; he is my God, and I trust him.
Isaiah 41.10 (NLT)
Don’t be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will hold you up with my victorious right hand.
Psalm 18.2 (CEB)
The LORD is my solid rock, my fortress, my rescuer. My God is my rock— I take refuge in him!— he’s my shield, my salvation’s strength, my place of safety.
Proverbs 18.10 (CEB)
The LORD’s name is a strong tower; the righteous run to it and find refuge.
Psalm 31.24 (CEB)
All you who wait for the LORD, be strong and let your heart take courage.
Deuteronomy 31.6 NLT)
So be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid and do not panic before them. For the Lord your God will personally go ahead of you. He will neither fail you nor abandon you.
Psalm 16.8 (NLT)
I know the Lord is always with me. I will not be shaken, for he is right beside me.
Numbers 6.24-26 (CEB)
The LORD bless you and protect you. The LORD make his face shine on you and be gracious to you. The LORD lift up his face to you and grant you peace.
Amen. I hope these words encourage you in these uncertain times. What other words from Scripture are encouraging you these days?
