I am a work in progress!
I have always loved this phrase. It gives hope for the future, that God isn’t finished with me yet!
I love the phrase even more after my stroke, just over 5 years ago on September 19, 2017. It has been quite a journey!
A couple of years ago, I shared a little about my stroke recovery, which continues. A huge part is simply the mindset of saying no to the plateau!
God’s Word is certainly key to my mindset, as well. As I’ve reflected on the 5th anniversary, I remember some words from Scripture that I started hearing in the days and weeks before the stroke, including …
“… apart from me you can do nothing.” (John 15.5)
“… but with God all things are possible.” (Matthew 19.26)
“My grace is all you need; my power works best in weakness.” (2 Corinthians 12.9)
“I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns.” (Philippians 1.6)
“No, despite all these things, overwhelming victory is ours through Christ, who loved us.” (Romans 8.37)
These words from Scripture apply to everyone, of course. They would have been applicable and meaningful even if I didn’t have a stroke. But, because of the stroke, these words in the days and week before the stroke were particularly meaningful!
I trust they will be meaningful to you, as well!
Wonderful scriptures for every circumstance! Thank you for the reminder.
Thank you, Marilyn!
Wonderful scriptures, especially to a desperate and hungry heart!
